Building and Trade Inspections and Building Occupancy Requests

Alyssa JonassonAnnouncements

Following industry consultation, the Building Occupancy Permit Request (Partial Interim Occupancy) process underwent an extensive review. Key changes include modifications to the commercial building and trade inspection request form, including options for earliest available inspection, a 4-day window selection, less than 4 days for service shutdowns and morning/afternoon requests. The Building Occupancy Request form now requires approval of shop drawings and completion of mandatory audit inspections before occupancy requests can be made. There will be a limit to final and full interim requests and partial interim occupancy permits will follow a separate approval process. These changes will be implemented in mid to late July.
