Proposed Manitoba Electrical Code

The proposed Manitoba Electrical Code and performance standards for electrical permits regulations are now accessible for public viewing and feedback. The posting will be available for a period of 30 days.

The consolidated Manitoba Electrical Code adopts the 2024 Canadian Electrical Code with amendments and when enforced, will apply to the entire province, including the City of Winnipeg. The enforcement date will be determined by the Province after the public consultation period closes. Winnipeg Electrical By-law 118/2025, which includes City administrative items, will be enforced at the same time.

Code presentations by Manitoba Hydro and the City of Winnipeg will be provided and posted to the website at a future date.
