The work of the association is supported through standing committees, advisory councils and working groups, reporting to the Board of Directors. Standing committees provide in-depth examination in areas aligned with the objectives of the strategic plan.

 

  1. Executive Committee & Futures Committee
    The Executive Committee provides recommendation to the Board of Directors regarding issues related to the governance structure of the Association, ECAM membership consideration related to new members, discipline or suspension, annual budget recommendations, hiring and performance review of the Executive Director, strategic plan development and serve as the nominating committee.

  2. Membership Committee
    The Membership Committee makes recommendation to the Board of Directors regarding strategies and programming to engage members and increase membership. The committee also oversee the ECAM advantage program, ECAM charity policy, ECAM membership standards and provides an annual review of membership fees.

  3. Government Affairs Committee
    The Government and Industry Relations Committee engages stakeholders and strengthens the voice of ECAM with government and industry partners. The committee provides leadership to emerging issues impacting the electrical industry and represents ECAM in meetings with government officials.

  4. Social Committee
    The Social Committee provides recommendations to the Board of Directors on activities of the association related to enhancing networking and relationship building of ECAM members. Committee members play a critical role in the planning and resource development of all committee events.

  5. Education Committee
    The Education Committee provides recommendation to the Board of Directors regarding programming delivering educational value to ECAM membership as well as the Board of Directors. Leading Industry professionals identify relevant and emerging educational needs specific to the electrical contractor. The committee also reviews scholarship programs and Try-a-Trade programming.

  6. Associates Advisory Council
    The Associates Advisory Council provides an opportunity for associate members to meet and raise relevant issues. The Council makes recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding association events, programs, and industry issues. The Council appoints representatives to each of the Board standing committees and the chair serves on the Board of Directors.

  7. Next Gen Advisory Council
    ECAM Next Gen is an Advisory Council to the Board of Directors. Next Gen members are 40 years and younger and have been identified by their employers as upcoming leaders. The Advisory Council represents a cross section of the Industry and 2 Board Representatives. The Council provides valuable feedback to the Board of Directors through the lens of the Next Generation. ECAM Next Gen host networking and educational events relative to the interests of the Next Gen demographic. They raise critical industry issues with the Board of Directors and work to fully engage the future of the Electrical Industry. ECAM Next Gen also provides support to local charities.

  8. Women in Manitoba Trade Contracting Advisory Council
    The Women in Manitoba Trade Contracting Advisory Council is a dynamic group of women representing a wide range of roles across the trades, both on the tools and in administrative and leadership positions. Pulling from their diverse experiences and expertise, the Council provides valuable insights to the Board of Directors to help advance meaningful initiatives that support women in the trades, including raising awareness, expanding education and training, and creating networking opportunities. The Councils terms of reference are currently underdevelopment.

  9. Design Consultant Advisory Council
    The Design Consultant Advisory Council provides an opportunity for consultants to meet and raise relevant issues. The Council makes recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding industry issues. The Council appoints a representative to serve on the Board of Directors.

  10. TradeConnect Committee
    The TradeConnect Committee provides recommendations to the Board of Directors on the planning of the annual business conference. Committee members play a critical role in the planning and resource development of the conference.
